Gabe’s Birthday Interview

I stole this idea from Julie MacDonald and her blog MACDONALD MADNESS.  I think it’s a cute way to remember how my kids are at different ages and the way they talk.  Gabe was full of one word answers on his birthday, But it was still fun.

May the force be with you

Star wars Invitation gabe

I could have used a little bit of the force during Gabe’s birthday.  It was his first birthday party with lots of friends.   There was such a strong contrast in the home as we waited for the first guest to arrive and a few minutes later when everyone came.

Although the boys were quite a bit more rowdy than the “girl-parties” we are used to,  everyone had a a lot of fun.   The boys had a good time battling with light sabers, eating cake, drinking “Yoda Soda’s”, and breaking open a piñata.  (Although the piñata almost gave me a heart-attack.  Luckily no one went to hospital.)

Spring Break

I had a fabulous spring break.    It started off with the 4th annual Ward Women Wild Weekend.    It is turning into my most-looked-forward-to weekend of the year.  I love it.  I get to spend time with just my sister-in-laws and mother-in-law.  No kids. No Husbands.  We all sit around, read books, and chat.  It’s heaven.  My in-laws are awesome.  They inspires me to be better.   I love them!

The next week,  Mark took a day off work and we slept in, and played.  The kids and I followed pattern for the rest of the week.  It was a great break!!

Some fun caught on my phone.

Fun, fun, fun.  It was a “staycation”.    Now it’s back to school.  We actually have gotten so off schedule, everyone woke up at 8:50 this morning. (school starts at 9)  whoopsy :)

Happy Alphabet

IMG_8247I must post a new post because the title of the last one bugs me every time I see.  I really did mean it at the time.

After soccer and gymnastics, cleaning rooms, and pulling weeds, the kids and I spent some quiet time inside today.  While I worked on primary stuff, they were busy in the corner.  This is what they made.

I Love My Body

I do.  And I want to shout if from the rooftops.  But I will have to settle for my blog which apparently only my sister-in-law Amy reads.

I really LOVE my body.

I had such a great day snowboarding today.  It was pure happiness.

I am so thankful to have this body that is strong, and functioning.  It allows me to take care of my home, and my family. It lets me  sweat and work and achieve goals.  It lets me play.

Sports and activities are such a joy in my life and I am just feeling very grateful that I have a body that allows me to enjoy them.

(Because today was seriously SICK!!!  I wish I had pictures.  I got some great air off some 40 ft jumps.  Landing some 360’s, and maybe got a minor concussion :)   The perfect day. )

The Day I Became a Tooth fairy

It was sneaky.  It was fun.  I liked it.

Here’s how the tooth came out.

At bedtime,  the family was speculating how much money the tooth fairy would leave under Emma’s pillow.  Mark said maybe she’ll leave a quarter.  Emma said kids in her class got like 3 dollars.

We left 2 gold quarters and 1 silver dollar under her pillow.  She was so excited!   Even though she knows the tooth fairy is not real, she still likes to pretend and get excited in the story.  It was quite magical.

I noticed she has 3 more loose teeth.   The tooth fairy is going to see a lot of action in our house this month.

SUPAF

Last week, Gabriel preformed at the Southern Utah Performing Arts Festival (SUPAF).  It’s a opportunity for kids to perform in front of an audience.  There’s a judge who gives a score and critique.

Gabriel did great.  He received the highest rating and was so cute.  He had a lot of fun.

I recorded it on my phone.  I wish I had waited for the applause.  The adjudicator said he has a future in violin, and someone from the audience said he has some fans.  :)
